Preserving a knocked out tooth

Did you know that if you were to get a tooth knocked out you could possibly preserve it and have it reattach to the bone?

When a tooth has been knocked out nerves, blood vessels and supporting tissues are damaged. All knocked out teeth will need a root canal , but the root will re-attach to the bone. The odds of saving a tooth are highest in young children, however adult teeth may be saved as well. Only permanent teeth can and should be re-implanted.

If you knock out a tooth, here are steps that might help ensure AbadinDental can save your Smile:

1. Don't touch the root of the tooth
2. Rinse it off with milk if dirty
3. Keep it moist into a glass of milk
4. Call our office immediately
